Berst is a Chinese male from Hong Kong and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. He is a graffiti writer, artist, educator, researcher, and videographer. Berst began painting graffiti in the early 2000s until the present and has painted in over 30 cities across the globe.
Two international accolades include a Guinness World Record in 2014 alongside 60 graffiti and street artists in Dubai which accomplished the world’s longest graffiti scroll spanning 2.24KM long, and 2nd place at the Ono’u International Graffiti competition in Tahiti during 2014.
As an educator, he teaches art and design at the tertiary level, delivers regular workshop programs, and organises local graffiti battles and events. He is qualified with a Masters in Education and currently studying for his Doctorate in Education, with a research focus on street art in New Zealand.
More recently, Berst founded the Real Time Web Series which is available on YouTube, to document the stories and history of graffiti writers in New Zealand.
